Housing Corporation De Goede Woning (DGW) has a plan to replace 20 bungalows on Westergo and 3 bungalows on Oostergo with new construction. DGW's plan is to replace the bungalows with 2-story apartments, totaling about 44 homes. DGW is assisting current residents in finding replacement rental housing.

Which bungalows are involved?

The addresses are:

  • Biesland 5, 6, 7
  • Collinsland 6, 7, 8
  • Dchterland 15, 16, 17
  • Duiveland 6, 7, 8
  • Flevoland 6, 7, 8
  • Montferland 1, 2, 55, 56, 57 and
  • Salland 1, 2, 3 (these homes are located along Oostergo)

Why new construction?

The 23 bungalows are in need of replacement. They are currently in poor condition. Renovation is not an option due to the relatively high costs, operating time and future-proofing of the houses. Also, the floor plan of the housing no longer meets the requirements of our time. New construction offers the opportunity to increase sustainability, build slightly larger homes and add an extra layer of housing. In this way, DGW wants to offer more tenants a suitable and sustainable home.

Participation

There is no established plan yet for the approximately 44 new homes to be built. DGW has made the first sketches. On November 28, local residents were able to view these sketches during a walk-in meeting and submit their suggestions for further development into a preliminary design. The municipality is aware of concerns about parking. Neighbors who wanted to comment on this or who saw other concerns, could let employees of the municipality know during the meeting. During the evening, DGW and the municipality also showed the planning of how they will continue working on the plan. You can read the report of the evening here.

Next meeting

At a subsequent meeting in the spring of 2024, DGW will tell what it has done with the concerns raised and the preliminary design can be viewed. The municipality expects to be able to tell more about parking solutions and the outcome of parking studies then.
