Highlight companies and join Innovation Expedition
Municipality of Zoetermeer puts innovative companies in the spotlight with an election for the most innovative entrepreneur. With this award, the municipality underlines the important contributions of local entrepreneurs to innovation and progress, making Zoetermeer the place to do business, learn and work together. As of now, anyone can nominate companies with innovative ideas or projects for the Zoetermeer 2024 Innovation Award.
Companies based in Zoetermeer are eligible for the award. For example, they make an impact with innovative products, distinctive entrepreneurship, social involvement, sustainability and/or employment. Think of companies in engineering, IT, installation/construction, eHealth and trade/logistics. An expert jury will judge the entries and announce the three finalists in the run-up to The Day of the Entrepreneur. On The Day of the Entrepreneur, on Friday, November 15, the winner will be announced. The winner will receive a media voucher worth 5,000 euros, a company video, one year membership in Netwerk Zoetermeer and the Dutch Innovation Community.
Innovation Expedition - discover, learn and innovate
For those curious to hear entrepreneurs' stories and be inspired, there will be an Innovation Expedition from the end of June until the end of the year, featuring podcasts, blogs and events for entrepreneurs. The podcast series "Innovation Expedition" will take you on a journey through different companies and the blog series will share practical tips on making an impact with innovation. In the series of company visits and podcasts, Alderman Jan Iedema calls on everyone to join in to raise awareness of innovative entrepreneurship: "The search for the winner alone shows what wonderful innovative companies have found their place in Zoetermeer."
City of applied innovation
The Innovation Award is an initiative of the Municipality of Zoetermeer, in collaboration with Netwerk Zoetermeer, Economic Board Zoetermeer and the Dutch Innovation Community. Together they are working to make Zoetermeer the city of applied innovation, where innovation is visible in practice. By connecting people, entrepreneurs, education and organizations, Zoetermeer is growing into an attractive city for working and doing business.
