Aleid Wolfsen has begun exploring a coalition agreement

The GroenLinks-PvdA coalition has asked Mr. Aleid Wolfsen to serve as an exploratory negotiator to assess the possibilities for a new coalition agreement. The previous exploratory talks following the municipal elections did not result in a coalition.

Wolfsen has begun his exploratory process and has already held his first meetings. In the coming days, he will continue to meet with all the political parties in the new city council. The plan is to report on his findings based on these meetings at the city council meeting on April 23, 2026.

Wolfsen is the chair of the Dutch Data Protection Authority. Previously, he served as a member of the House of Representatives and as mayor of the municipality of Utrecht, among other roles.
