Residents' Appreciation Afternoon at the Ambachtsheerlijkheid Neighborhood Garden in Palenstein
On Saturday, July 4, the third edition of the summer “Thank You Afternoon” matinee took place in and around the green neighborhood shed of the “Ambachtsheerlijkheid” in Palenstein.
The afternoon event was organized by a number of volunteers from the Palenstein Litter Brigade and was intended for the volunteers of the Ambachtsheerlijkheid, the Litter Brigade, and local residents who have looked out for their neighborhood and for one another in Palenstein over the past year, including through NL-doet.
More than 60 visitors stopped by and enjoyed the soul-stirring music of Suzanne Sanders. Suzanne is known for her work with the Kate Bush tribute band.
She sang mostly beautiful original songs and a number of lovely covers, including some by Kath Bush.
It was a very atmospheric, enjoyable afternoon where, in addition to wonderful music to lose yourself in, there were plenty of delicious treats to eat and drink.
Old acquaintances ran into each other again and decided to meet up for coffee after the summer matinee.
Each volunteer received a thank-you card on a piece of cake that read, “You’re gold.” Afterward, everyone went home feeling good.
Last Wednesday, this litter cleanup brigade got together again to pick up litter. They do this together every month on the second Wednesday evening of the month. There will also be plenty of gardening going on in the neighborhood garden in the coming weeks. Would you like to learn more about this, and are you interested in joining a wonderful, friendly group of people who care about the neighborhood and each other?
