Housing Eerste Stationsstraat 185

Developer ArthurArmstrong B.V. plans to demolish the former Era-Contour building at Eerste Stationsstraat 185 and build apartments here.

Vernède Park and Paltelaan area vision.

In August 2023, the municipality announced the creation of an area vision for Mayor Vernède Park and the area around Paltelaan. Everyone could have a say in the future of the area. The area vision (this is now officially called an environmental program) will also look at what can be done with the office building at Eerste Stationsstraat 185. Follow the making of the area vision at Area Vision Vernède Park and Paltelaan.

What preceded it?

In 2021, Arthur Armstrong presented a building plan for the Eerste Stationsstraat 185 site. Local residents were able to respond. At the documents below you will find the reports of the participation process. After the participation, the conclusion was that the plan is not feasible at this location. The municipality and the initiator therefore entered into discussions about the continuation of the project. During these talks, the city council commissioned a vision for Vernède Park and Paltelaan. Since Eerste Stationsstraat 185 is directly adjacent to Vernède Park, the municipality and the initiator came to the conclusion that the redevelopment of Eerste Stationsstraat 185 should be considered in conjunction with the creation of the vision for Vernède Park and surrounding Paltelaan.

How does it go from here?

The environmental program will include basic principles and frameworks that a building plan for the Eerste Stationsstraat 185 must meet. With these starting points, the developer has already presented 2 urban development models on September 24, 2024 (see presentation with the documents below). After this the developer has made a preferred model, this will be presented at a walk-in meeting on December 11, 2024.
