Erasmus College Wins the 10th Edition of TRASHBASH

The assignment was: create a work of art from trash. All participating schools embraced this challenge wholeheartedly. Students from ONC Parkdreef, Alfrink College, Erasmus College, and Picasso Lyceum came together to present their unique works of art to the jury and Councilman Van der Meer during a festive gathering in the council chamber of the Zoetermeer municipal government.

Lots of creativity

It was truly impressive to see how much creativity, dedication, and enthusiasm the students had poured into their artwork. Using waste as their starting point, they managed to create original and meaningful works of art that were not only beautiful to look at but also conveyed a clear message. During the presentations, the students confidently shared the stories behind their creations. Councilor Van der Meer heard well-reasoned explanations that demonstrated how much thought had gone into the impact of waste and sustainability.

Winner: Erasmus College

It was no easy task for the jury to select a winner. Each piece of art was original, surprising, and crafted with care. In the end, the students from Erasmus College took home the prize. They created a turtle that could be viewed from the inside on one side. This immediately revealed how much trash—and especially plastic—was inside the animal’s belly. The artwork powerfully illustrated the consequences of litter for animals and nature.

With the announcement of the winner, the 10th edition of TRASHBASH came to a wonderful close.
