Event site central park

Market

Description

The Market is located in Central Park, between the City Center and Dorpsstraat. The Market is centrally located between the shopping areas and residential areas. From the Market, there is a view of the Dobbe lake.

The Market Square is paved and suitable for events of various sizes. In 2026, the entire Market Square will once again be available as an event venue. The location is also ideal for expansion with the Parkweide event venue.

Decked path

A wooden boardwalk will be constructed along the Dobbeplas in 2025: the Vlonderpad. The path is intended for pedestrians and runs around Central Park.

During events, the path may be used as a walkway. It is not permitted to place objects on it, as the path must not be subjected to excessive weight. The path is also not intended for use as a jetty.

Commodity market

On Saturdays, the weekly market is held on Marseillepad. Are you considering organizing an event on the Markt at the same time? If so, the bicycle route along Frankrijklaan Marseillepad must remain open. This route is necessary for loading and unloading the market goods and is also used as an emergency route.

Park meadow

Description

The Parkweide area (formerly Dobbe Island) will be redesigned in 2025. It is part of Central Park and forms a connection between the Market Square and Nicolaasplein.

The Parkweide is suitable for small-scale events. It is a green park with a lawn and a view of the Dobbeplas lake. There are various play and sports facilities. The location can be ideally combined with the Markt and Nicolaasplein event sites.

Paths and weight load

A wide path for walkers and cyclists runs through the Parkweide. The cycle path can bear a weight of up to approximately 40 tons. The red area and the paths in the Parkweide can bear a weight of up to approximately 20 tons. The green areas in the park are not suitable for vehicles without road plates and are only accessible to pedestrians. Areas without lines are also not suitable for vehicles.
