Poetry Contest: Recite Your Poem on May 4 and 5
Are you between the ages of 8 and 17, do you live in Zoetermeer, and do you enjoy writing? Then this poetry contest might be just the thing for you.
The City of Zoetermeer is organizing a poetry contest for children and young people on the theme of Remembrance. What does remembrance mean to you? Perhaps you think of freedom, stories from the past, or people we must not forget. Put your thoughts into a poem.
The winner will receive a special opportunity. The author of the winning poem will be invited to recite it during the May 4 Commemoration and at the opening of the Liberation Festival on May 5 in Zoetermeer.

It's easy to participate:
- Write a poem about what remembrance means to you
- You can decide for yourself how long your poem is and what form it takes
- Please send your poem to kabinet@zoetermeer.nl by April 20 at the latest
- Please include your name, age, school, and contact information in the email
Important: Please check with your parents to see if you're available on May 4 and 5 to recite your poem.
