'Hunted' in Zoetermeer
Friday, September 19, the game "Hunted" (like the TV show) will take place in the Noordhove and Seghwaert neighborhoods. Some 90 Zoetermeer youths between the ages of 12 and 17 try to stay out of the hands of police officers and enforcers on foot. This spectacular cat-and-mouse game is an opportunity to connect with each other in a fun way. The game starts at 4:00 p.m. on the lawn at Aldo van Eyck Park and lasts until 6:00 p.m.. To conclude, there will be a BBQ with strong stories.
Play area
The play area lies on the border between Noordhove and Seghwaert and is sandwiched between the through neighborhood roads. The shopping center and through neighborhood roads are OUTSIDE the area. Do you live in this area? Do not be alarmed this afternoon by young people running around in blue overalls and searching police officers and enforcers. The youth will be given rules to follow. For example that they have to stay in public areas. So no hiding in gardens or apartments. The shopping center is also off limits. Hitchhiking on a bicycle or scooter is also not allowed. The police and enforcement do have cars, motorcycles and mountain bikes. So unexpected crossings can happen. Participants should of course keep a sharp lookout, but nice if you yourself are extra careful. The municipality deploys crossing aids for safety on the highways. This is a so-called "safe zone," where young people cannot be caught. So they can cross peacefully. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
How is the game going?
Participating youths must try to reach 4 checkpoints and collect stamps there. If an officer or enforcer taps them during the game, they are off and must walk all the way back to the starting point. Each participant has 2 "lives" and thus gets a retake.
