Art Exhibition by Fieke Hordijk at the Hof van Seghwaert
Can nature and culture go hand in hand? Judging by the many enthusiastic responses from visitors who attended last year’s first sculpture exhibition in our charming pear orchard, the answer is definitely yes. This year, Fieke Hordijk is exhibiting her unique sculptures. She will open the exhibition on June 7 at 1:00 p.m.
Fieke is an artist from Zoetermeer who creates sculptures and wall art using metal. Her works are inspired by themes such as dance, geometry, and music. Her primary sources of inspiration are movement and energy. Through stylized forms, she depicts people and animals, water and air, as well as music and speed. Metal is a material that offers many possibilities. You can saw it, cut it, bend it, dent it, color it, and let it oxidize. Fieke is also known as the creator of the bronze “Visdiefje” (Little Seagull), which is awarded every year on the occasion of the Zoetermeer Public Prize for Art and Culture.
The exhibition is free to visit from June 7 to August 23 during the Hof van Seghwaert’s opening hours; see www.hofvanseghwaert.nl.
De Hof van Seghwaert is located next to the parking lot at Gaardedreef 169, 2723 AZ Zoetermeer.
