Informal Caregiver Café: Asking for Help
On Tuesday afternoon, May 19, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., InZet’s informal care coordinators are hosting an informal care café at the Oosterheem drop-in center, located at Zanzibarplein in Zoetermeer. This time, the theme is “Asking for help: how do you do it?”
As a caregiver, you’re sometimes swamped with caring for your loved one and managing their appointments, leaving you barely any time for yourself. That’s when you could really use some help—from family or friends, for example. But you often don’t ask for it because you feel guilty that you can’t handle it all on your own, or you feel bad asking someone who’s busy themselves? Plus, your loved one doesn’t want help from anyone else? So you usually end up doing it all yourself again... Sound familiar?
During this informal gathering for informal caregivers, we’ll talk about the times when you could have used some help, where your reluctance to ask for help comes from, and how you can (still) reach out to others. We invite you to gain new insights, join the conversation, and/or share your valuable experiences with other informal caregivers!
When: Tuesday, May 19, 2026
Time: 2:00–4:00 p.m.
Where: InZet Oosterheem, Zanzibarplein (across from the WZH residential care center)
At an informal caregiver café, you can gather information and share experiences with like-minded people. An open and honest conversation with other informal caregivers can give you just the boost you need to keep going. Are you interested? You’re welcome to join us! Attendance is free, but we ask that you register in advance. Would you like to secure a spot? Please email your name and phone number to zoetermeer@mantelzorgcentraal.nl.
