Frequently asked questions about the Wmo

Household support

What kind of support can I get?

There are 3 levels of support:

  1. Training to stay fit so you can continue to do your household by yourself (Powerful Ageing).
  2. Short-term household support that helps you regain independence in your household.
  3. Household support for an extended period if you have no ability to do it yourself.

The Wmo counselor will determine which level is best for you.

How is the support I receive determined?

The Wmo counselor reviews your request for help. The Wmo consultant may first have a conversation with you about your request for help in order to better assess what you need. Then the municipality can invite you for an intake. During this intake it will be assessed whether you can participate in a training to stay fit.

I am offered support level 1 (Powerful Ageing). What does that entail?

Support level 1 is a training program aimed at making you stronger and more stable. This will make it easier for you to perform your daily activities, such as household chores. You decide for yourself whether you want to participate in the training program.

I am offered support level 1 (now Powerful Ageing), but I would prefer household support. Is that possible?

Support level 1 means that we expect you to be able to continue doing your household chores yourself after completing the training. In that case, you will not receive any domestic support, or only for a short period of time. You can follow the training at the expense of the municipality. You can decide for yourself whether you want to participate in the training. If your situation changes in the future, you can report this to the municipality again. The municipality will then reassess with you what support you need.

I am offered support level 2. What does that entail?

You are temporarily unable to do your housework, but we expect you to be able to do it yourself again after some time. You will receive short-term support to help you learn how to do your household by yourself again.

I am offered support level 3. What does that entail?

Because of your disability, you cannot do your housework for an extended period of time. The tasks you cannot do, a domestic worker will take over from you.

If I don't qualify for domestic support now, can I get it in the future?

If your situation changes, you can always report again. The municipality will then investigate. If you need domestic support, you will get it.

I disagree with the support I receive from the municipality. What can I do?

You can object to a decision made by the municipality. Your decision will tell you how to do this.

I find it difficult to file a Wmo notification. Can I get help with this?

You can get help in a variety of ways. The municipality's Wmo counter is available to help you with your report. You can also get help from an independent client supporter. Adviespunt Zorgbelang can give you free independent advice and support in arranging your help.

Personal contribution under the Social Support Act (Wmo)

What is the co-payment in the Wmo?

With the co-payment, you pay part of the cost of help or support from the Wmo. We also call this the 'subscription fee'.

How high is the maximum subscription fee in Zoetermeer?

Zoetermeer follows the national rules. On Rijksoverheid.nl |Do I pay a personal contribution for Wmo support? you can read about the maximum amount you will pay as a personal contribution. It does not matter what your income is, how many facilities you have, or what these facilities cost. Zoetermeer does not have separate rules for people with a minimum income. Sometimes your supplementary insurance will reimburse the cost of your own contribution.

From when do I start paying the subcription fee?

Once you have received a Wmo decision from the municipality, we will also register your facility with the CAK. Starting the following month, you will begin paying the subscription fee.

Do I always pay the subscription rate when I use a WMO facility?

You do not pay a subscription fee if:

  • You have a joint household and you or your partner have not yet reached the state pension age.
  • You only use a wheelchair through the Wmo.
  • The WMO facility is provided for a child under 18 years of age (exception: permanent home modifications).
  • You only use work-based day care.
  • You only use the regional cab.
  • Your household already pays a co-payment for the Wlz.

In all other cases, you pay the Wmo subscription fee.

When do I stop paying the co-payment?

We will send a stop notice to CAK:

  • When no further use is made at all of a WMO facility provided by the municipality of Zoetermeer, for example due to relocation or death.
  • When you have paid off the entire aid through the subscription fee.
  • When you or your partner start receiving care from the Long-Term Care Act (Wlz).

Is it possible that I temporarily do not have to pay a co-payment (for example, when I am on vacation or hospitalized)?

It is not possible to pause the subscription feeif you go abroad for several months, for example. Only in exceptional cases can the subscription fee be (temporarily) not imposed. For example, if you are admitted to a rehabilitation center for more than a month. Contact the Wmo department about this.

When am I done paying for my aid (cost control)?

If you have "paid off" the entire aid and you do not use any other facilities from the Wmo, the co-payment stops.

Do I pay the co-payment for the whole family/household or for each person separately?

The maximum co-payment applies per household. Do more persons in a household use the Wmo? Then together they pay the maximum co-payment.

Why do I have to pay to CAK?

CAK calculates and collects the co-payment for the Wmo on behalf of the municipality and the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS).

I will soon reach the state pension age. What does that mean for the co-payment?

Do you have a partner? And is your partner not yet AOW entitled? Then you do not have to pay a contribution this year. Only when both reach the AOW age will you have to pay a co-payment.

I have a question about cost control of my facility.

Please contact the Wmo administration. You can call 14 079 to do so.

How can I pay the co-payment?

You pay the co-payment to the CAK. You can pay the co-payment by direct debit. Or through the invoice you receive through the CAK. Do you have questions about paying the own contribution? Please contact the CAK via 0800-1925.
