Adopt environmental island

Are you involved and want to do something in your neighborhood? Would you like to help us keep the environment and environmental islands in your neighborhood clean? Then adopt an environmental island!

How does it work?

To keep the environment of the environmental island clean, you will receive from us:

  • A litter pick, work gloves, garbage bags and a broom to clean up small (litter) that lies next to the container.
  • A key to open the container from the back to clear blockages.
  • A phone number to immediately report a broken container or a hazardous situation. By dangerous situation you should think of sharp objects (glass) or harmful substances. We deal with these reports as quickly as possible.
  • You will receive instruction on how to fix clogs in the containers when you encounter them during your work.

Environmental islands overview

The map shows exactly which environmental islands have already been adopted (red) and which have not yet been adopted (green). If you click on the map, for example where you live, the environmental islands in the immediate vicinity come into view. You can then see the distance to the environmental island. You can also see what can be brought there (glass, textiles, paper and/or PBD).
