New and more secure Wi-Fi network starting July 1, 2026

Starting July 1, 2026, the municipality of Zoetermeer will begin using a new guest network in all public spaces. The current Gasten Zoetermeer network will be discontinued and replaced by Publicroam.

This applies to all locations where you currently use the municipal Wi-Fi network. These include City Hall, as well as the public service counters and libraries.

What will change for you?

Would you like to continue using free Wi-Fi in our buildings? Here’s how:

  • Download the Publicroam app;
  • Register once;
  • Your device will then automatically connect to the network.

You will also be automatically and securely connected at other locations where Publicroam is available.

Why this change?

The current Wi-Fi network is public and therefore less secure. With Publicroam, the municipality is opting for a more secure connection. This means your data is better protected, and you can surf the web with peace of mind.

Important to know

  • Without registering, you will no longer be able to use the free Wi-Fi in our public areas.
  • The app is free and takes up very little space on your phone.
  • As of July 1, 2026, the old network will no longer be operational.
