Signing of the Agreement for the Design and Preparation of Entree Zoetermeer Public Space

Zoetermeer, June 22, 2026 – The agreement to prepare a preliminary design for the public space within the Entree area was signed by Alderman Jan Iedema (Entree) and René de Roos (Director of Haskoning).

Preliminary Design for Public Space

The agreement covers the design and development of the public space in Entree. It encompasses approximately 300,000 m² of streets, plazas, trees, water features, and green spaces. The public space will be designed to complement the buildings and the intended use of the area. This will create a pleasant environment where people can live, meet, and spend time.

Haskoning is developing a preliminary design that fits within the framework of the Entree Environmental Program. This program outlines how the area should look and the quality standards for the buildings and public spaces.

About Entree

Entree is Zoetermeer’s new neighborhood, where urban vibrancy and green spaces come together. Here, a compact and easily accessible living environment is taking shape for people who consciously choose an active, social, and sustainable urban lifestyle.

The Entree area is located on both sides of Afrikaweg, between the A12 and downtown Zoetermeer. The area will feature approximately 7,000 homes, amenities, and small-scale businesses. Entree is located near Zoetermeer Station and serves as an important link between the neighborhoods of Meerzicht, Driemanspolder, and Rokkeveen.

A Step Forward in Development

The signing marks the next phase in the development of Entree and in the further design of the public space within the area. Zoetermeer Councilor Iedema: “With this agreement, we are taking a significant step forward, together with Haskoning, in the further design of the public space in Entree. We are thus moving step by step toward implementation.”
