Work on the Channel Tunnel
Zoetermeer is undergoing rapid development. Major roadwork is underway to improve the quality of the roads in our city. Unfortunately, despite our efforts to accommodate various road users—such as drivers, commuters, and pedestrians—this work is still causing some inconvenience.
Weekend Construction and Detours
Weekend of September 4, 5, and 6
This weekend, we’ll be working on the roadway between Zwaardslootseweg and the north and south sides of Denemarkenlaan. Starting Friday, September 4, at 9:00 a.m., the section of the “ Europaweg ” heading toward SilverDome—between Luxemburglaan and Denemarkenlaan—will be closed after rush hour.
If you are driving from SilverDome, the Europaweg will be closed from Aziëweg to Zwaardslootseweg. However, the tunnel toward Leidschenveen and the highway will remain accessible. The construction work will continue through Sunday afternoon, September 6.
- If you're coming from Aziëweg, Australiëweg , or Oostweg and want to go to Buytenwegh, you can use the tunnel at Europaweg.
- If you are coming from Aziëweg, Australiëweg , or Oostweg and want to go to De Leyens or the N206, you can take a detour via Oostweg, Zuidweg , and Afrikaweg.
- If you are coming from Afrikaweg or Amerikaweg toward the neighborhoods of Noordhove, Seghwaert, or Oosterheem, you can use the tunnel / Aziëweg.
- Are you coming from the Australiëweg and heading toward SnowWorld? If so, you can continue your route via the Europaweg (north side) and the Amerikaweg. This route will remain open this weekend (September 4–6).
