Join the conversation about soccer, identity, and the question: Who are you actually rooting for?
During the European Championship or World Cup, the streets turn into a sea of flags. But who are you actually cheering for? The Netherlands? Your parents’ or grandparents’ country? Or maybe both?
During this roundtable discussion, we’ll talk about soccer, identity, and a sense of belonging. What does our choice of a soccer team say about who we are? Can you feel a connection to more than one country? And how does sports bring people together?
Through personal stories shared by residents, soccer fans, and a representative from a local soccer club, we explore themes such as pride, heritage, loyalty, and community. Afterward, participants will engage in small-group discussions around the table.
An inclusive and welcoming evening full of new connections, shared experiences, and surprising conversations. Of course, we’ll start the evening with a meal together.
