Making Surinamese Music Together in Palenstein

Would you like to learn more about Suriname? Or do you enjoy making (or playing along with) rhythmic music? Then come to the Gelijk youth hub or Music Soul House in Palenstein this November.

This fall, the “Sounds of Surinam” music workshop will tour various locations in Zoetermeer as part of the Karavaan. The workshop was developed by multimedia artist, singer, and workshop facilitator Evita Tjon A Ten to bring people together through music.

During the workshop, participants are introduced to Surinamese music and culture in an active and accessible way. They’ll sing, dance, make music, and learn more about the history and cultural background of Suriname.

See below for when and where the workshops will take place and how to register. The workshop is open to everyone ages 5 and up and is free of charge. Downloading a free ticket helps us keep track of attendance.
