Sea Tower Reaches Its Highest Point

Municipality of Zoetermeer, Bakkers|Hommen Waerdevast, and general contractor Kondor Wessels Amsterdam celebrated the topping-out of the Sea Tower residential tower. The 70-meter milestone was celebrated with a festive event and marks an important step in the continued development of the city center.

Alderman Jan Iedema (Downtown): "With the completion of the Seatower’s highest point, we are celebrating an important milestone in the Downtown area. These homes will strengthen the neighborhood and contribute to Zoetermeer’s housing goals."

Sea Tower was designed by the architectural firms Wim van Es and CB5 and will house 150 rental apartments and studios. Catella is the future owner of the residential tower, and Holland2Stay will manage the rentals. The building replaces the former Ypsilon office building and contributes to a modern, sustainable, and vibrant city center with more housing and amenities. In the coming period, the surrounding public space will also be redesigned. Prior to this, local residents will be informed during an information evening. Completion of the Sea Tower is scheduled for the third quarter of 2026.

Tom Bakkers of Bakkers|Hommen is also proud of this milestone: "70 meters of affordable residential housing at the edge of downtown confirms the city of Zoetermeer’s ambition."
