September 2026: Activities at Buytenwegh and De Leyens
After a wonderful summer, the neighborhood is once again buzzing with activity in September. From get-togethers and creative activities to new initiatives for young and old: there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Patatje Prik: Working Together for the Neighborhood
On September 9, you can join the “Patatje Prik” event at the Händelrode. You’ll start with a serving of fries and then head out into the neighborhood with your neighbors to pick up litter. Dining Together at inZet Buytenwegh
Looking for a cozy and affordable meal in the neighborhood? Every Wednesday, you can join us for a restaurant night at the inZet community center on César Franckrode. Pick Pears and Enjoy Yourself at De Zoete Aarde
On Saturday, September 12, De Zoete Aarde Community Garden will host Heritage Day, the annual pear-picking day, and an extra-large mini-market. Visitors can enjoy live music by the shanty choir De Weidepoort, participate in creative activities, and browse the many stalls featuring local products and handmade items. There will also be poffertjes and, of course, plenty of opportunities to meet other residents in the park. Support Group for Parents and Caregivers
Do you care for a child or family member who needs extra attention or support? Starting in October, inZet’s drop-in center on Teldersrode will host a support group for parents and caregivers who want to share their experiences and find a sense of connection with others. There will be opportunities to discuss topics such as self-care, finding balance, and coping with challenges in daily life.
