Sneak preview Youth Hub 'Gelijk' a huge success!
On Friday, February 6, youth hub Gelijk briefly opened its doors to local residents and interested parties. During this sneak preview, they were able to take a look inside and ask questions to employees of the organization behind youth hub Gelijk.
No fewer than 60 people came to take a look. District alderman Ronald Weerwag addressed those present. "There is a great need for a safe and pleasant place for young people in Palenstein, which did not exist before. I am pleased that a number of youth parties from the neighborhood itself also recognized this need and entered into discussions with the municipality to get this initiative off the ground."
New ideas
In addition to questions, there was also room to share ideas. And this opportunity was put to good use. For example, the board of the Mevrouw Latenstaan youth center came up with the idea of offering a stage to young people who produce music at the Gelijk youth hub.
Local residents in particular said that this introduction alleviated their concerns. "Young people will soon be well supervised, and if there is anything we can always drop in," said one local resident.
Over the coming months, the hub will be set up and the program with young people will be finalized. This will truly make it a place for young people.
