Start of construction of canoe jetties for new boating route through Rokkeveen
In Rokkeveen, a boating route is being marked out at the initiative of the Zoetermeer Canoe Association De Sprinters. The goal of this initiative, which was submitted via the Zoetermeer Sports Agreement , is to Zoetermeerders to get more active and get to know the neighborhood better. This can be done with a SUP, open canoe, kayak, or inflatable boat.
Four canoe jetties are being constructed for the boating route. The route starts opposite football club FC Zoetermeer at canoe jetty A and ends in the ditch next to the football club at canoe jetty D. At the Floriadeplas, a portage point is being created using two canoe jetties (B and C).
Work on the construction of the canoe jetties will start on October 12, 2026, with the installation of the two canoe jetties at the Floraplas (B and C). Subsequently, the two canoe jetties (A and D) at the Brede Akkerpad will be constructed. The work will take approximately two weeks in total and will be carried out by contractor Van Rijn Service BV.
