Have you ever ridden the Opstapbus?

From January 5, 2026, the new bus 'De Opstap', bus line 272, will run through Zoetermeer. This Opstap connects Rokkeveen and Dorp with the Stadshart and Centrum West. The bus complements the existing public transport system and makes it easier for residents to travel within the city.

Community coordinators Sandra Rispens and Serpil Guzelmansur rode along on the Center–Rokkeveen–Center route in Zoetermeer this week. “It was a fun and educational experience to see the service up close and observe how it works in practice,” said Serpil. "During the ride, we got a good sense of the route, the stops, and how passengers can use the shuttle bus." The drivers work with great enthusiasm and dedication and are also actively contributing ideas on how to better promote the service to residents. Residents can ride the bus for 2 euros per trip.

"We do see room for improvement," Sandra adds. "We could further improve the visibility and information provided about the shuttle bus, so that residents have an even clearer idea of where and how to board. It might also be worth exploring how the route and destinations align with residents' preferences."

All in all, it was a valuable experience that provided a good overview of the services offered and the opportunities for further development.
