The Most Charming Street in Zoetermeer Is Adigestroom
What makes a street truly special? Not the cobblestones or the houses, but the people who look out for one another. That became clear once again during the “Most Loving Street” Contest in Zoetermeer.
On November 4, 2026, Adigestroom was named the “Most Beloved Street of 2026.” This title certainly deserves heartfelt congratulations. It was a neck-and-neck race, as the jury emphasized that all entrants are winners. According to the jury, the winner demonstrates that a relatively small residential complex can be remarkable in terms of community spirit and engagement. Thanks to years of dedication from residents, a wide variety of activities, and the many interactions that result from them, a close-knit community has emerged. That combination was the deciding factor for the jury.
At a time when people sometimes go about their lives without really connecting with one another, the “Lief & Leed” initiative shows that small gestures can make a big difference. With great enthusiasm, residents from across the city shared their stories and initiatives. They demonstrated how they bring neighbors together, welcome new residents, reach out to residents who could use a little help, and organize friendly get-togethers on the street.
Councilmember Frinking: “I thoroughly enjoyed this evening and have enormous appreciation for all the community leaders. They volunteer their time for their streets and deserve recognition, regardless of whether they win a prize. Building relationships and connections starts close to home. The community leaders of Lief and Leedstraten show how residents, through small gestures, contribute to a strong social foundation, where neighbors know one another, look out for one another, and feel connected to their neighborhood.”
The Most Charming Streets in 2026
The “Most Loving Street” Contest is not just a competition, but above all a tribute to all residents who contribute to a warm, engaged, and social city. A jury evaluated the entries based on creativity, community connection, and the impact the activities have on the quality of life and sense of community in the neighborhood. On Wednesday, November 4, the winners were announced during a festive gathering at CKC Zoetermeer.
In 2026, the most charming streets in Zoetermeer will be:
- First Prize: Adige River
- Second Prize: Bronze Green
- Third Prize: Wethouder van Wellstraat
All three streets will receive a grant that will allow residents to organize something special for their street and neighbors and bring people even closer together.
