Disabled parking space

Are you applying for a disabled parking space? Then the municipality starts an investigation.

• The investigation is done by an employee of the Wmo department and is completed within 8 weeks.
• The employee may request additional examination by a medical specialist. In this case, the medical specialist will contact you to schedule an appointment and the examination may take longer than 8 weeks. 
• Are you not driving yourself? Then the health of the person driving the car is also considered.

When will you get a parking space?

• Can you walk less than 50 meters? Then you usually get a parking space close to your home (if you cannot park on your own property). 
• Can you walk 50 to 200 meters? Then you will only get a parking space if there is crowded parking in the neighborhood.
• Can you walk more than 200 meters? Then you will not get a parking space.

Change or delete appointment?

Once you have made an appointment you will receive a confirmation e-mail. This e-mail also contains a link that allows you to change or delete your appointment.

Do you no longer have the e-mail? Call 14 079. A staff member can change or delete the appointment for you.

Do you have a handicapped parking space and are changing cars? Then the license plate linked to the parking space must be changed. You must report the new license plate number to the municipality, otherwise you will no longer be allowed to park in the disabled parking space.

Temporary parking ticket

Processing the application to change license plates takes about 8 weeks. For that period, you can apply for a temporary parking permit. You can then continue to use your parking space.

• Make an appointment Parking facility request.
• Bring to the appointment a copy of the new registration certificate.
• You will receive the temporary card immediately. With this you can park in your parking space until the license plate number on the sign at the parking space is updated.

Replacement transportation

Do you need (temporary) replacement transportation due to circumstances? Then you can get an emergency card. To do so, call 14 079 and ask for the Special Parking Facilities Department of the Wmo Department for more information.

You are moving within Zoetermeer

Whether you get a parking space (again) depends on the possibility of parking at your new home. The municipality investigates this first. Make your request via:

Combination parking space and disabled parking permit

If you apply for both a parking space and a disabled parking permit, you must first pay the permit fee. After that, your application will be processed. If the application for a parking space is approved, you must pay the cost of the parking space before it is constructed. 

Special assistance

You can apply for special assistance for the cost of disabled parking if you have a minimum income and a medical indication for individual transportation. 

When not using

Do you no longer need the parking space or are you moving? Then you can cancel it yourself. To do so, fill out the form: Cancel help or aid or send an e-mail to:

In the event of death

If a user of a disabled parking space dies, there is no longer a right to use the parking space. The next of kin will receive a letter regarding the removal of the parking space.

The municipality will make a decision on whether or not to construct a parking space within 8 weeks of payment of the fee.
