Heart of Meerzicht
The Heart of Meerzicht is the name of Meerzicht's community center and refers to its central location in the neighborhood. In the shopping center there is a lot of vacancy, the design and appearance is very outdated, the public space around is not attractive and the number of visitors is declining. The area is in need of a major refurbishment. The refurbishment is an important part of the Meer voor Meerzicht plan and will help to improve the neighborhood.
Project 1 - Redevelopment of Herenwaard office building
Within the Heart of Meerzicht there are several market parties who see opportunities for a major transformation of their properties and buildings. The municipality only deals with the public space. The area will be developed in stages.
The office building on Herenwaard is the first step in the development. Owners have developed a plan. The neighborhood has been invited to discuss it and ideas are being collected. This is a start of a participation process. The municipality will discuss the approach to the public space with local residents at a later date.
On Tuesday, February 11, 2025, the owners, together with the municipality, are organizing a participation meeting. The report will be on this page within 2 weeks.
