Join us for a work day during Nature Work Day at Hof van Seghwaert

Would you like to join us for some DIY fun at the Hof van Seghwaert on Saturday, November 7, between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.?

The orchard there is beautiful—a green oasis in the middle of a residential neighborhood. The pear trees yield a bountiful harvest every year, from which juice is made and sold in a small shop. It’s a place where people can relax, enjoy nature, and meet one another. To keep this special place beautiful, extra helping hands are welcome.

On Nature Work Day, we’ll roll up our sleeves and get to work. We’ll prune the mini-forest, spruce up the children’s playground, and tend to the vegetable garden. Enthusiasts can also get involved in the bee garden. In addition, the old orchard will receive the care it needs to remain a pleasant, green gathering place for years to come.

Children are also welcome to help out with their parents. Non-Dutch speakers are also welcome to join. By the end of the day, we hope to have accomplished the following: crooked trees will be straightened, the soil will be limed so that nutrients from the clay are better absorbed by the trees, the vegetable garden will be tidied up and fertilized, and the chicken coop will have a fresh layer of sand. In addition, the Tiny Forest will once again be a pleasant, safe, and accessible place for children, and the bee garden will look beautiful again.

Join us and sign up! You can do so at activiteiten@hofvanseghwaert.nl. Lunch will be provided. De Hof van Seghwaert is located next to the parking lot at Gaardedreef 169, 2723 AZ Zoetermeer.
