Youth Soccer Festival

During the May break, Vrije Tijd Zoetermeer is organizing extra activities for children and teens in the city, including the Soccer Festival on May 1. Children and teens ages 8 to 13 will play 5-on-5 matches and participate in sports clinics such as track and field, judo/boxing, dance, and an obstacle course.

Freedom Meals at Buytenwegh

On May 5, Freedom Dinners will be held throughout Zoetermeer, with a focus on eating together and socializing. In Buytenwegh, you can register with SVO Buytenpark, and in De Leyens, with Vivaldi and Buurttuin De Zoete Aarde.

Outings with the Senior Bus

The Senior Bus is organizing fun outings in May, including a visit to the Winkelhof Shopping Center on May 4 and the De Bosrand Garden Center on May 18. Participation is by registration only; space is limited.

De Leyens Neighborhood Café

Do you have questions about the neighborhood or would you like to share something? On Wednesday, May 6, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., the Buurtbakkie will be at De Leyens Shopping Center, where you can talk with the neighborhood alderman, neighborhood coordinator, community police officer, area manager, and neighborhood liaison. You’re welcome to stop by for a cup of coffee or tea.

Patatje Prik in Buytenwegh

On Wednesday, May 6, Patatje Prik kicks off at 5:30 p.m. at H.M. van Randwijkhove with some fries. Afterward, you’ll split into small groups to pick up litter in the neighborhood. It’s a fun and casual way to meet your neighbors and work together to make the neighborhood cleaner.

Children's Activities During Spring Break at inZet Buytenwegh

During the May break, inZet Buytenwegh is organizing fun activities for children. On Wednesday, May 6, children can cook and have lunch together. On Thursday, May 7, there will be a chess lesson, where children can practice their chess skills in a playful way. Parents are welcome to join in, watch, or simply sit in on the fun. Participation is free.

BiebBende: Creative Afternoon for Kids

On Wednesday, May 13, children ages 7 to 12 are invited to join the BiebBende at the Buytenrode Neighborhood Association. This afternoon will focus on soapstone carving and creative activities.

Move the City: a dance project for children

Children ages 7 through 12 can participate in Move the City, a unique dance project leading up to a joint finale in the CKC & partners theater. Over the course of six classes, they will work on dance, self-expression, and self-confidence.

Buurtbakkie on tour in Buytenwegh

In Buytenwegh, the Buurtbakkie will be visiting various locations throughout the neighborhood to talk with residents. On Thursday, May 21, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the Buurtbakkie will be parked on the small field between Jacobus Bellamyhove and Anna Blamanhove, focusing on prevention and safety in the neighborhood and at home. Here, you can speak with the neighborhood director, law enforcement, police, fire department, and neighborhood liaison, among others.

The Piëzo Talent Academy is starting up again

After the May break, new classes at the Piëzo Talent Academy will begin again at Buytenwegh, Meerzicht, and Palenstein for children ages 9 to 14. At Buytenwegh, children will explore creative careers in the arts and theater, such as working in a theater or making films and taking photos.

Vet Slim! Festival at Buytenwegh

On Thursday, May 21, you’re invited to the Vet Slim! Festival at IKC De Vijf Pilaren—a day filled with exercise, socializing, and fun for all ages. There will be workshops, games, booths, and treats, and city council members will be stopping by as well.

Strolling Through the Garden - Secondhand Clothing Market

On Saturday, May 23, come browse through clothing and accessories at "Struinen in de Tuin" at De Zoete Aarde Community Garden. With live music, mini pancakes, and a relaxed atmosphere, this promises to be a fun afternoon for everyone.
