Training
You don't become an enforcer overnight. Most enforcers have completed the Enforcement, Supervision and Safety course. In addition, the boa diploma must also be obtained. In the training you learn everything about laws and regulations in the Netherlands. But also about maintaining order and safety in a city. You will also learn to cooperate with different organizations.
To do the job of an enforcer well, the following characteristics are important:
- Being helpful
- Making contact easily
- Being able to intervene when something happens
- Persevere when the going gets tough
A minimum of an MBO3 diploma is required to attend the course. After completion of the course, a mandatory exam must be taken every year.

Assistance
Enforcement officers can provide first aid if necessary. For this purpose, they retake their first aid and FAFS certification every year.
Team Enforcement attends violence management training
Team Handhaving Zoetermeer completed an RTGB training day in 2023. RTGB stands for Regeling Toetsing Geweldsbeheersing, a crucial training for all Buitengewoon Opsporingsambtenaren. They are allowed to use force in certain cases and they must be trained for that. This time not in a gymnasium, but at various locations around the city. Watch the video below:
