After the summer, Rokkeveen will once again be bustling with activity. Throughout the neighborhood, gatherings, workshops, walks, and other activities are being organized for residents of all ages. On this page, we’ve listed a number of great initiatives, meeting places, and neighborhood activities for you. Get inspired and discover what’s happening in your neighborhood in the coming weeks.
Activities
Connection Week is Coming Up
From October 5 through 11, Rokkeveen will once again be celebrating Connection Week. During this week, organizations, residents, and volunteers will organize various activities to meet one another, do things together, and get to know new people. A preliminary version of the program is now online and will be updated in the coming days. Check out Week of Connection in Rokkeveen to see which activities are planned, and keep an eye on the neighborhood channels for the final program.
WijCK: Getting Creative in Rokkeveen
This fall, WijCK is once again bringing art and culture to the neighborhood. In September, the Rokkeveen Neighborhood Library will launch a creative series in which participants will work together on macramé projects. These activities offer an opportunity to learn new skills and meet other residents. De Balijhoeve: Where Nature and Animals Meet
There’s always something to do at De Balijhoeve City Farm. Visitors can enjoy the animals, take a walk toward the Balijbos, or participate in activities on the grounds. In September, there are also the Living Heritage Days, which focus on traditional farm animals and heritage. Together Rokkeveen: Meet, Discover, and Connect
On Saturday, September 12, the Rokkeveen Shopping Center and the neighborhood association are organizing a fun afternoon of socializing. Residents can learn about organizations, clubs, and activities in the neighborhood. There will be demonstrations, performances, and activities for all ages. On the page “Samen Rokkeveen: Meet, Discover, Connect, and Shop!” you can see which organizations will be there and what there is to do.
Community Centers in Rokkeveen
At De Vlieger Community Center and the Rokkeveen Neighborhood Association, activities for residents take place year-round. These are places where people meet, discover new hobbies, and organize activities together. Whether you want to actively participate or just drop by, there’s always something going on.
New Walking Group in Rokkeveen
Would you like to get more exercise and meet your neighbors at the same time? Starting September 16, inZet Rokkeveen is launching a new walking group led by a volunteer from the neighborhood. The walks will be at a leisurely pace, with plenty of time for a chat and getting to know each other. Round Table Evening: Doing Nothing Is Not an Option
During Peace Week, ILOZ and the Zoetermeer Library are organizing a special Round Table evening on September 23 at the Rokkeveen Neighborhood Library. Under the theme “Doing nothing is not an option,” participants will discuss connection, engagement, and what we ourselves can do for our neighborhood and society. There will also be time to share experiences, listen to one another, and enjoy a warm meal together. BRAVO! Festival for People 55 and Older
Do you want to stay active, healthy, and engaged? On Saturday, October 3, the BRAVO! Festival will take place—an inspiring day especially for Zoetermeer residents aged 55 and older. You can participate in workshops, explore activities related to exercise, health, and socializing, and visit the information fair for advice and inspiration.
