Grant - Insulation for Single-Family Homes

A More Comfortable Home When It's Cold or Hot Outside

Did you receive a letter from us with a “unique home code”? If so, your home has an energy label of D, E, F, or G. You’ll really notice the difference once you improve your home’s insulation. 
For example, with roof insulation, floor insulation, or triple-pane windows. Maybe you already knew this, but were always put off by the costs or the “hassle.” Our Zoetermeer Insulation Grant is designed to help you get started anyway.

Benefits of this grant

1. It will cost you less to insulate your home. (About €1,500 to €3,000 less!)
2. Through the Regional Energy Help Desk, we have already selected reliable professionals for you.
3. An independent advisor will help you with every step, free of charge, if you'd like.
4. Even if you're handy and decide to do the insulation work yourself, you'll still receive a grant.

These are the main eligibility requirements for participating in the Zoetermeer Insulation Grant Program:

• You are the owner of the home.
• You live in the home yourself.
• Your home has an energy efficiency rating of D, E, F, or G. If you don't have an energy efficiency rating, you must demonstrate that at least two parts of your home are poorly insulated—for example, the roof and the floor.
• As of January 1, 2022, your home had a WOZ value of less than €477,000.

In addition, the following applies:

• You can apply for this grant through December 31, 2028, or until the funds run out.
• All grant applications are processed through the Regional Energy Help Desk.
• The Regional Energy Help Desk processes all applications in the order in which they are received.
• Your home is eligible for this subsidy program only once.
• You did not participate in the municipality's DIY subsidy program in 2024.
• You may also use the grant for work that has already been completed on or after January 1, 2025.
• The insulation measures must meet the minimum surface area and insulation value requirements. These are also specified in the terms and conditions of the ISDE subsidy at (rvo.nl).

Before you apply for the grant, it's a good idea to prepare.

Step 1: Choose what you want to insulate

You can apply for grants for:

• roof insulation
• floor insulation (including in the attic or loft)
• floor insulation
• Interior wall insulation
• HR++ glass or triple-pane glass
• insulated doors
• energy-efficient ventilation

Step 2: Choose who will do it

When you submit your grant application through the Regional Energy Help Desk, please indicate whether you will be improving the insulation yourself or which company you would like to hire to do the work. We recommend choosing companies through the Regional Energy Help Desk. These companies are known for delivering quality work at a fair price. Step 3: Apply for the national ISDE grant as well

Are you having insulation installed? If you receive the Zoetermeer Insulation Subsidy, there’s a good chance you’ll also be eligible for the ISDE subsidy. You can apply for this subsidy through the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO): ISDE: Subsidy for making your home more sustainable (rvo.nl).

Good to know:

• We always deduct the ISDE subsidy from the subsidy amount you receive from us.
• Are you choosing an insulation company affiliated with Regionaal Energieloket? If so, make sure to agree on who will apply for the ISDE subsidy on your behalf, as they can handle this for you. They always advance the ISDE subsidy, so you won’t have to pay that amount in any case.
• If you choose a different insulation company, you'll need to apply for the ISDE subsidy yourself.
• Are you planning to insulate your home yourself? If so, you cannot apply for the ISDE grant.

Are you really stuck?

Do you find it difficult to make these kinds of decisions? If so, consult an advisor from the Regional Energy Help Desk. Their services are free, and they provide independent advice. The advisor will come to your home to assess it and help you make all the necessary decisions.

Please have our letter with your unique housing code handy. You will need this housing code for your application. Follow these steps:

1. Go to the special promotion page: zoetermeer.regionaalenergieloket.nl/isolatieacties. Log in with your housing code and apply for your subsidy.
2. Please let us know whether you'll be doing the insulation yourself or having it done.
3. Please provide the necessary information, photos, and documents, such as invoices and proof of payment, or an estimate of the surface area to be insulated.

Lost your housing code?

Did you receive a letter with your housing code, but have you lost it? If so, please contact the Regional Energy Help Desk.

If you haven't received a letter by July 2027 but you do meet the requirements, please send an email to energieloket@zoetermeer.nl. And be sure to include the following:

• the WOZ value in 2022, if you know it, and
• proof of your home's energy label (such as an energy scan), or
• Evidence that at least two components (such as the wall and the floor) are not sufficiently insulated (for example, a photo or an energy scan).

In that case, we will still review whether you are eligible to apply for the grant.
