Grant - Shelter for Needy Wildlife.

This grant allows you to request a contribution for the shelter and care of needy wild animals found in Zoetermeer. 

What do you need to know?

Terms

To apply for this grant, you must meet the following conditions:

  • You are a legal entity.
  • You trap 20 or more wild native animals per year (excluding pets, insects and pests).
  • The sheltered animals were found within the municipal boundary of Zoetermeer.
  • The shelter is within a 30 km radius of Zoetermeer.
  • You have a valid exemption from the Province of South Holland to take in wildlife.
  • You hold ANBI status

The maximum contribution is € 15 per animal. There is a subsidy ceiling of € 15,000 per year. If more subsidy is requested than is available, the money will be divided based on the number of animals taken care of.

Until when can a grant be applied for?

For 2025 and 2026, you can apply for subsidies through Oct. 31, 2025. You will receive a letter in December 2025 telling you whether or not you will receive a grant.  

You can apply for subsidy for 2027 from June through August 2026. You will receive a letter in December 2026 telling you whether or not you will receive the 2027 grant.

With the application, you must include the following. Please have these documents ready digitally before completing the form.

  • A summary per animal with admission and discharge dates, type of animal, and method of discharge (released, deceased, transferred).
  • A copy of the valid ANBI seal of approval and provincial waiver.
  • The most current statement of income and expenses, with breakdown of income by origin.

How long will it take?

In December of the year, you will receive a letter stating whether or not you will receive a grant for the coming year.
