Grant for apartment insulation

Good news for apartment owners: the city has introduced a new grant to help homeowners’ associations improve insulation. With proper insulation, you’ll live more comfortably, save on your energy bills, and reduce yourcarbon footprint. This program makes it easier and more affordable to upgrade your apartment.

Who is eligible for the grant?

The grant is available to homeowners' associations (HOAs).

  • You can apply for the subsidy as a homeowners' association, but also as an individual homeowner.
  • Do you live in a mixed homeowners’ association, with both owners and tenants (for example, through a housing authority)? In that case, the homeowners’ association as a whole is not eligible for a subsidy. However, as an owner, you can apply for one yourself.
  • Landlords who are members of a homeowners' association are also eligible, provided they own no more than 5 apartments.

How much funding can you receive?

  • You can receive up to €1,460 per apartment. This amount covers insulation materials, labor costs, and VAT. Examples include HR++ glass and insulation for walls, roofs, or floors.
  • Your apartment (or the building managed by the homeowners' association) must have a WOZ value of less than €477,000 (as of 2022). It must also have an energy label of D or lower, or demonstrate comparable energy performance.
  • The insulation measures must comply with national regulations (such as minimum insulation values and surface area).

How do you apply for the grant?

You apply for the grant after the work has been completed. Applications can be submitted for measures carried out on or after January 1, 2025. You can easily apply via: Grant - Insulation for Homeowners' Associations.
