Temporary Housing Facility at Orfeoschouw and Boerhaavelaan

The municipality of Zoetermeer is making temporary housing available at Orfeoschouw 70 and Boerhaavelaan 33 for various target groups, including permit holders. The homes are intended for people who urgently need housing. To this end, the municipality has submitted an application for the national government’s target-group-flexible program.

Objectives

Each year, the municipality of Zoetermeer receives a mandate from the national government to provide housing for permit holders. The municipality is behind schedule in housing permit holders. Because there are not enough homes, we rent additional living space to ensure they still have a place to live. These are newly constructed apartments, so we do not use existing (affordable) homes for this purpose.

Boerhaavelaan

Various target groups currently live at 33 Boerhaavelaan, including young people, people going through a divorce, and Ukrainian displaced persons. Another 18 rooms are being built in the same building. Residents are expected to be able to move into their rooms sometime in December 2026.

Orfeo Fireplace

Of the 40 apartments, 20 will be rented by the municipality. The apartments are intended for various groups of people who have difficulty finding housing. These include permit holders and other small families of 2 or 3 people. The first residents are expected to move into their homes in December 2026. Residents can live here for up to 2 years while they wait for suitable housing.
