Entree Zoetermeer, an attractive A12 area
The quality of the area along the A12, Zoetermeer Station and the Mandela Bridge, the Entrance of Zoetermeer, must improve. Residents, entrepreneurs, travelers and investors are working together with the municipality on the visible renewal of the Entrance of Zoetermeer. The goal is to make the area much more attractive and accessible, giving Zoetermeer extra quality.
Important area
The area along the A12 motorway, Zoetermeer train station and the Mandela Bridge is the entrance to the city. It is also an important area for business activity. Currently it is not very attractive and there is a lot of vacancy. That has to change, many entrepreneurs and residents want that too. They want to visibly renew the area. The goal is to give Zoetermeer extra quality. An attractive and accessible Entrance of Zoetermeer is good for residents, entrepreneurs and the many travelers who use the area daily.
Area Table

There you will find people and organizations who, like you, see more possibilities for the Station Area. Are you looking for implementation partners? Or would you like to contribute to the plans of others? The Area Table is the place to start working together in concrete terms. The Area Table has existed since October 2015. Area vision
Residents, business owners, travelers and investors are working with the municipality on a new area vision for Entree Zoetermeer. This is happening in various ways. They presented initiatives and ideas to each other during collaborative sessions in Public Labs. And they are working together on projects from the area table and the Entree Zoetermeer project of the municipality of Zoetermeer. The municipality also carried out research into opportunities for improvement, such as the passer-by survey, and talked to entrepreneurs and owners in the area.
The next step is to capture all the knowledge and ideas in a shared vision. To do this, the municipality will involve stakeholders and interested parties. One way it does this is through Public Labs.
Public Labs
A collaborative discussion session was held on June 23, 2015: Public Lab Entree Zoetermeer nr.1 . The result of the Public Lab is input for a new area vision with visible improvements for a new area vision as well as a look to the future. The result of this Lab, conversations with companies and research results will be used for the area vision. Read the report of Lab No. 1 here. A second Public Lab took place on October 13, 2015. In this Public Lab, the municipality explained ways to address the improvement together with parties in the city. In addition, residents and organizations presented four initiatives that can improve the area. For inspiration, Rotterdam Central District presented their method in which different parties work together to improve the station area. View this presentation here.
Survey passersby
Pedestrians, cyclists and public transport passengers in the area and motorists at the A12 gas station were surveyed. These users of the area were surveyed about their experiences there. The results of the survey can be found in the Rapportage gebruikersonderzoek 'Stationsgebied Zoetermeer'. The results are used to devise improvements.
