Subsidy - Social Domain

For activities that are good for the city and/or its residents, you can apply for a subsidy. The conditions for applying for or receiving a subsidy are not always the same.

What can you apply for a subsidy for and what not?

Do not apply for a subsidy for:

  • Activities for which you can provide enough money yourself (for example by asking participants for a contribution).
  • Activities outside Zoetermeer or that are not intended for residents of Zoetermeer.
  • Activities that are contrary to the law, the public interest or public order and safety.
  • Activities with a political, religious or philosophical message.
  • Activities that do not meet the rules for qualifying for a subsidy.
  • Activities where there is no reasonable connection between the amount of subsidy requested and the planned activities.

Applying for annual subsidy

You can apply for a subsidy from June to August of this year for all activities that you want to organize next year. The board will decide by November 30 of this year at the latest. You will receive a letter in December stating whether or not you will receive the subsidy.

The municipality will only process your application if it is sent on time and complete with all attachments.

Applying for a one-time subsidy

You can apply for this subsidy for an unexpected activity. You must apply for the subsidy 13 weeks before the start date of the activity.

Cost of the building

The costs of the building where the activity is held must be stated separately in the application. The municipality wants to use its buildings as well as possible. If you apply for a subsidy, you should therefore preferably use a space in a municipal building. You must arrange the rental of a building yourself. How long will it take?

Annual subsidy

Applying for a one-time subsidy

You must apply for the subsidy 13 weeks before the start date of the activity. The board will make a decision within 13 weeks.
