Zoetermeer Full of Fun: Photo Contest Winners Announced

During a festive gathering at Kiki at Franx on Wednesday evening, September 30, the winners of the “Zoetermeer Full of Fun” photo contest were announced. The jury selected three winning photos that capture the city in a cheerful and lively way. In addition, a top 10 list was compiled, which is on display starting today in an exhibition at the Forum Zoetermeer Library.

Three winners, one heartwarming story

The photo contest, organized by the Zoetermeer City Marketing Bureau, called on residents and photography enthusiasts to capture what makes Zoetermeer cheerful, human, and lively. After all, fun isn’t just found in big events, but especially in the everyday moments of being together, relaxing, discovering, playing, exercising, and experiencing life. Amid great interest from participants and guests, the jury—consisting of Councilwoman Lisette Sandifort (city marketing) and CKC program director Nikki Nederend—presented the awards. Unfortunately, jury member Remco Koers was unable to attend. The jury expressed its appreciation for the high level of engagement and the diversity of the submitted photos.

From the many entries, the jury selected three grand prize winners:

First Prize – Aryan Patmo

Jury's verdict: It's fun, it's playful, it's Zoetermeer. This photo captures a beautiful moment.

Second Prize – Adele Ceretto-Zingoni

Jury's verdict: A beautiful photo—it shows real guts that the photographer dared to get so close to the Scottish Highland cow. It looks like it's hiding, which makes the photo fun.

Third Prize – Peter Knoester

Jury's verdict: A beautiful photo with a lovely composition. It's clearly taken in Zoetermeer. The cyclist almost looks like he's cheering, which makes the photo even more enjoyable.

According to the jury, the selection showcases the many different places and moments in Zoetermeer where fun, socializing, and experiences take center stage.

Exhibition: The Top 10 in Pictures

In addition to the three winners, the jury compiled a top 10 list of the most striking entries. A prize was also awarded for the most creative entry, which was won by Joke van der Zwet. All participants in the top 10 will have the honor of showcasing their work to a wider audience. The complete top 10 will be featured in an exhibition on display at the Forum Zoetermeer Library through November 12.

Councilwoman Lisette Sandifort (City Marketing): “This photo contest brought two wonderful things together: the talent of the photographers and the many moments of joy that Zoetermeer has to offer. The entries show how residents and visitors enjoy everything our city has to offer and just how much fun there is to be had in Zoetermeer every day.”
