If you see something that is broken or needs to be cleaned up, report it for free.
Urgent
Is your report urgent? For example, because a tree has blown over the road or because there is another immediate danger? Then call 14 079 (also outside office hours).
Examples of things you can report
- loose paving stone
- hole in the road
- broken street lighting
- damage to lampposts or traffic signs
- unsafe places
- maintenance of public green areas
- fallen branches or trees
- litter
- overflowing waste bins
- odor nuisance
- abandoned bicycles or cars
- unsafe traffic situation
- broken or unsafe playground equipment
- (noise) nuisance from neighbors
Complaint
You can file a complaint if:
- You have not been treated properly by an official or administrator.
- You do not receive a response to a letter or you have to wait too long for a response.
- The municipality does not keep agreements that are made.
- You request information, but you do not receive it from the municipality.

Report on pests (other than rats)
Controlling pests (except rats) is not a task for the municipality.

Report about water quality, water level or a water barrier
Contact the Rijnland Water Board (west side of the Delftsewallen) or the Schieland and Krimpenerwaard Water Board (north and east of the Delftsewallen).
There are some exceptions:
- You can report groundwater levels (for example water in the basement or under the floor) to us via the OutsideBeter app or via the contact form.
- The owner of the plot of land is responsible for the drainage of groundwater in the event of nuisance.
- If anyone wants to know how things are arranged for his/her piece of land, information about this can be requested from the municipality.
- You can report litter in the water (shopping carts, bicycles) to us via the BuitenBeter app or online .
- You can report dead animals in the water to the Animal Ambulance The Hague and surroundings or call 070 - 328 28 28 .

Report of an unsafe traffic situation
Would you like to make a request for speed bumps or traffic signs in your street, for example? Then fill in the contact form .
Are you experiencing nuisance from the driving behavior of others? You can report this to the police (0900 - 8844).
What do we do with your report?
- Your report will be sent to the correct department for processing.
- In order to process your report, we may share your report and your contact details with another party.
- Your report will usually be processed within 14 days.
- If your report cannot be processed within 14 days, we will contact you.
- Is your report not for the municipality?
- Intended for another government authority (e.g. province) > we will forward your report.
- Intended for an agency other than the government > we will refer you.

How long will it take?
Report of residential and living environment
A report about the living and residential environment will be processed within 14 days. This does not always mean that the situation has been resolved. Sometimes more time is needed. If we are unable to process the report within 14 days, we will contact you.
In order to process your report, we may share your report and your contact details with another party (for example, a contractor).
Public lighting notification
Simple faults, such as replacing broken lamps, are carried out within 14 days. Major or complex faults (for example, if more street lighting fails) are dealt with immediately until they are resolved. In dangerous situations, emergency measures are taken.
A report about public lighting will be processed within 8 weeks at the latest. If this is not possible, we will contact you.
