Notification residential and living environment (public space)
Do you see something that is broken or needs to be cleaned up? Then file a report for free.
Rush
Is your report urgent? For example, because a tree has blown over the road or because there is another immediate danger? Then call 14 079 (also outside office hours).
Examples of things you can report
- loose paving stone
- hole in the road
- broken street lights
- damage to lampposts or traffic signs
- unsafe places
- maintenance of public green spaces
- downed branches, fallen trees
- litter
- overflowing waste bins
- odor nuisance
- abandoned bicycles or cars
- unsafe traffic situation
- broken or unsafe playground equipment
- (noise) nuisance from neighbors
Complaint
You can file a complaint if:
- You have not been treated properly by an official or administrator.
- You do not receive a response to a letter or you have to wait too long for a response.
- The municipality does not keep agreements made.
- You ask for information, but you don't get it from the municipality.

First, check the Public Space Reports map to see if your report has not already been registered.
Step 2.

Report on accessibility and/or accessibility
You can file a report if you are dissatisfied with the reachability and/or accessibility of a public building, street passage, event or our website.

Report of dead birds
Do not touch dead wild birds. Do you find several dead birds in one place? Please report this to the Animal Ambulance The Hague e.o..
Report on muskrat or beaver rat
Have you seen a muskrat or beaver rat? You can report it via:

Report on pests (other than rats).
Pest control (other than rats) is not a job of the municipality.

Notification about water quality, water level or a water barrier
Then contact the Rijnland Water Board (west side of the Delftsewallen) or the Schieland and Krimpenerwaard Water Board (north and east of the Delftsewallen).
There are some exceptions:
- Groundwater levels (for example, water in the basement or under the floor) can be reported to us via the BuitenBeter app or via the contact form.
- Garbage in the water (shopping carts, bikes) can be reported to us via the BuitenBeter app or online.
- Dead animals in the water can be reported to the Animal Ambulance The Hague e.o. or call 070 - 328 28 28.

Reporting an unsafe traffic situation
Would you like to make a request for such things as speed bumps or traffic signs in your street? If so, please fill out the contact form.
Are you experiencing nuisance from the driving behavior of others? You can report this to the police(0900 - 8844).
What do we do with your report?
- Your report will go to the appropriate department for processing.
- In order to process your report, we may share your report and your contact information with another party.
- Your report is usually processed within 10 business days.
- If your report cannot be handled within 10 days we will contact you.
- Is your report not for the municipality?
- Intended for other government (e.g. province) > we will forward your report.
- Intended for agency other than government > we refer you.

How long will it take?
Notification of residential and living environment
A report about the living environment is handled within 14 working days. This does not always mean that the situation will then be resolved. Sometimes more time is needed. If the report is not handled within 14 days, we will contact you.
To process your report, we may share your report and your contact information with another party (for example, a contractor).
Public lighting notification
Simple outages, such as replacing broken bulbs, are handled within 14 business days. Major or complex malfunctions (for example, when more street lights go out) are handled immediately until resolved. Emergency measures are taken in dangerous situations.
A report on public lighting is handled within 8 weeks at the latest. If this is not possible, we will contact you.
