Terrace installation
To place a terrace at a catering establishment, you must file a notification (see: 'Arrange online'). You must enclose with the notification:
- a drawing with:
- the dimensions of the terrace
- The layout and design of the patio (what materials will you use?)
What you need to know
- You must make a notification if the patio is located on (including on your own property) or on the public road.
- Do you sell alcoholic beverages on the terrace? If so, the terrace must also appear on the Alcohol License.
- Is your terrace not on municipal land? Then you do not pay precario tax*. However, you must report the terrace to the municipality.
- The municipality approves a terrace only if it complies with the general rules for placing a terrace.
- Municipality agree? You will receive a letter and an official drawing of the terrace.
- Municipality does not agree? You will receive a letter explaining why the municipality does not agree.
*Precario tax: the municipality levies this tax for the use of public land.
